THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FORGOTTEN AND UNFORGETTABLE?

THE LAST 3%

Your song is this close to being unforgettable. But "this close" might as well be a million miles.

You've rewritten, re-recorded, and remixed until you're practically sick of your own song… You know something's off, but you can't put your finger on it.

That painful no-man's-land between "pretty good" and "undeniable banger"? That's my specialty.

I chauffeur pop-adjacent tracks across the finish line when their creators are way too close to see the way forward.

YOUR TRACK IS PROBABLY PRETTY GOOD ALREADY

But "really good" is the enemy of "holy s**t, what was THAT?!"

The song is written. The performances are captured. You've got solid production. You've already put in the hard work, but something's still... off.

Maybe:

- Your chorus doesn't quite hit as hard as it should

- The energy dips in weird places

- There's too much stuff competing for attention

- It sounds good on your monitors but falls apart everywhere else

This is the exact point where most people throw in the towel OR release something they're not 100% stoked about. Don't do either of those things. Let's figure it out together.

Why do I call myself a
co-producer?

I could just mix what you send me. I'm pretty damn good at that… I have way more fun when I can help with that maddening final stretch of production where you're too close to your own music to be objective.

Tightening up the transitions, finding those perfect moments for ear candy, cutting out those unnecessary layers that you’ve heard so many times that you kinda forgot they’re even there...

You’ve been there. We’ve all been there.

Are YOU my people?

I love love LOVE working with artists and producers who geek out over:

- Vocals that get stuck in your head for DAYS

- Rhythm sections that make you physically unable to sit still

- Those little sonic Easter eggs buried in the mix that only your superfans notice

If you're nodding along right now, we should probably talk. I promise I won't make you sound like everyone else.

That would be boring as hell for both of us.

“I also really love the approach that Carl took on his "The Winds Of Change" remix… literally had me grinning from ear to ear the first time I heard it.”

JEAN-PHILIP GROBLER
// Artist, Producer - St Lucia) //

“Carl is a reliable guy to have in the room. He's always eagerly exploring the possibilities and naturally keeps the collective mood in a fun place. Among his many talents, you should know he is an exceedingly skilled and flexible drummer. It's true.”

ANDREW MAURY
// Producer, Mixer - Shawn Mendes, Lizzo, Post Malone //

“Having toured with Carl over the years, we knew what an amazing musician he was - but having him work on remixes for Sunship Balloon and totally reimagine them was so cool... Highly recommend!”

DANIEL HAGGIS
// Artist, Drummer - The Wombats, Sunship Balloon //

Let me listen to your vision.

Obligatory Third-Person Biography

Meet Carl Bahner – a mix engineer whose journey through virtually every role in music creation gives him a rare perspective on what makes tracks deeply connect with the listener.

Long before focusing on mixing, Carl built a foundation as a multi-instrumentalist and performer. He's toured extensively throughout the US, Canada, and the UK, sharing stages with Walk The Moon, X Ambassadors, Charli XCX, Andrew McMahon, The Wombats, and dozens more. This firsthand experience of how music translates from studio to stage informs every mixing decision he makes today.

What sets Carl apart is his ear for emotional authenticity. When working with artists like The Wombats, St. Lucia, Joywave, and Hippo Campus, he approaches each song as a unique emotional puzzle – not just a technical exercise. His contemporary take on the "Wall of Sound" philosophy blends organic and synthetic elements to create sonic landscapes that feel simultaneously familiar and unexpected.

Behind his playful demeanor lies a methodical approach honed through years of experience on both sides of the glass. Carl understands that great records happen when everyone on the team fully invests in the artist's vision – which is why he's as passionate about the collaboration process as he is about the final sonic result.

Beyond his mixing work, Carl channels his fascination with artist development into helping other production professionals build meaningful creative partnerships.

But mixing remains his true calling – specifically that critical moment when a track is tantalizingly close to greatness but needs that final push across the finish line. It's in this space between "almost there" and "absolutely undeniable" where Carl's unique combination of technical skill, performance experience, and creative problem-solving truly shines.
